VANL is delighted to announce details of a unique Hollywood-style
VOSCARS awards ceremony to recognise the outstanding efforts of local
volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations as part of North
Lanarkshire’s festivities to mark the European Year of Volunteering
2011. The VOSCARS will take place on the evening of Thursday 3 November
2011 at the newly opened Motherwell Theatre (Civic Centre). Awards will
be made on the night in twelve categories to reward volunteers,
volunteer-engaging organisations, and volunteer teams who have
demonstrated exceptional commitment to volunteering or supporting
volunteering in the local area during and prior to the last twelve
months.

All money received such as ticket prices, contestant entry fees and
business sponsorship deals are solely for the purpose of raising money
for charity.

Nasheed Factor have endorsed Islamic Relief to be
the charity that the revenue generated from Nasheed Factor will be
allocated to.

Supplication for acceptance of efforts:

History and Significance:

While Prophet Ibrahim, along with his son Ismail, was raising the
foundation of the House of Ka’aba, they both offered this supplication
to Allah to accept their effort of construction. A perfect supplication
that we should offer whenever we are initiating any project or effort.

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, ‘The Upper Hand is better than the
Lower Hand. The upper hand is the one that gives, and the lower hand is
the one that takes’

“What actions are most excellent? To
gladden the heart of human beings, to feed the hungry, to help the
afflicted, to lighten the sorrow of the sorrowful, and to remove the
sufferings of the injured.” (Bukhari)
